This utility can be used to calculate required sample size when your aim is to test whether there is significant difference between more than two proportions. (Test of significance: Chi-Square test of independance).

Formula used and other details
Number of groups in your study (r) Total Number of groups in your study. (No. of rows. Should be > = 2.)
Number of columns in your table (c) Number of possible subgroups for each group in your study. (No. of Columns)
Your Guesstimate of proportions for each subgroup (row-wise), based on previous studies / pilot study. (Row total should be 100)
You can enter the proportions (row-wise percentages) based on findings of previous studies / pilot study in each cell. (Row total = 100%)
Confidence Level % In percentage. Commonly used values are 95, 99 and 90. Should be between 0.01 to 99.99.
Power ( 1 - β) In Percentage. Should be between 0.001 to 99.999. Common values are 80 % and 90 %
